Edgelessness, an exhibition of painting

Artists Rachael Addis, Suzanne Bethell, Nan Collantine, Kate Jacob feature in Edgelessness, an exhibition of contemporary painting at the new Mura Ma art space in Marple, Stockport.

All four artists are interested in in themes that are non-physical, or subjective and each is drawn to paint as a means of extracting intangible ideas or feelings.  From memory to response to place, these artists share a common thread in that they feel their way through painting, to gather, create and converse with the paint. 

Each of them is fascinated with the open field of painting, from thick and luscious layers to the dripping thinned translucency, these painters are continuously learning from this medium’s expressive qualities and have developed their own process or interaction with paint, surface and modes of application.
